I ordered some flat head socket screws to replace the phillips head screws in my bridge saddles. They work really well in my 1991 4003S and are exactly like the originals except that they're black and they use the same allen wrench for adjustment as the screws for the bridge height. I mentioned in an earlier post that I had to order a LOT more than I needed because there was a minimum order fee and shipping charges and that I would be willing to sell most of the extras to other Forum members. A few of my friends are buying some and a few sets are already spoken for by some members here, but I think I'll still have at least 15 more sets available if anyone is interested.
It looks like I'm going to have to buy padded mailing envelopes to send these, so if anybody wants a set or two let me know. I think that $3.50 will cover a set of screws, the padded mailer, and postage in the U.S. I'm guessing postage to Canada is probably about $0.50 more. If you would like more than 1 set of screws it will be $1 for each additional set. I believe Paul Yan mentioned that these should fit bridges made from somewhere near mid-1973 and newer, and that they needed to be shortened a little bit to fit those prior to these years. I have no idea if that is the correct year for the change-over. I think you could probably find a nut to fit these screws at a good hardware store, thread the nut on, file or grind the end down to the proper length, and then thread the nut off to clean up the threads. If there is a big interest in these and the demand exceeds my supply I would be willing to order another batch as long as it looks like all of them will go.
