Whatever name(s) you use, best of luck to you!

I personally prefer "Joey's Bass Notes".

I think there should, at least, be a redirect from the JBN name since it's been referenced in countless articles in this and the RIC site. In other words, you should keep that domain name. Adding another such as rickenbrother is great too, for non bass stuff if you want.

BTW, if you have any questions, etc. about domains, webs, etc., drop me a line. My wife does web site design for a living so I can probably get a "real" answer pretty fast for you.
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Joey, remember there is also a history with the major search engines for JBN - stick with that name and add a blurb and link on the landing page of JBN to the guitar section you will be creating. Just make the guitar section a menu choice off of JBN. You could also have a rickenbrother.com page that redirects to the JBN site, but that would be unnecessary and an added cost to register. My humble advice.

Thanks to all for the input and advice. It would be best if the site stayed joeysbassnotes.com, however it might be a while before it's back up if I keep that name. I'm not necessarily in a big hurry.

While waiting on godaddy (or whomever) to transfer the domain name, you can register the domain you want and migrate everything over there and continue on. After your domain is released, you can just either point it at the "new" one or move everything over to your old domain and redirect everything there.

The only downside to this would be things you have at your "new" domain being listed in search engines. However, a robot.txt file (robots.txt info) should stop search engines from listing that domain in their search engine. That part is easy to set up, though.

There are several options to look at here and the course you stated previously (sitting and taking your time) is also an acceptable one. ;)

I've never seen the site so I'm a bit anxious. I may see if the wayback machine can help me take a look at it, though. :)

We could always send a Brute Squad to go get the code.

I'm sure we could find a Gene Simmons axe and burst through the door...
