That was actually during a break between sets. He's eating a sandwich.

Sometimes I use a harmonica harness which a friend calls my "sandwich holder".

As a bass unto itself, it's good. It's well-built, feels "solid", has decent hardware, and a decent variety of tones. As a substitute for a Hofner? Ehhh... It has a full-range tone and the lack of a tone control means you need to roll off treble on your amp to come close to Hofner tone. But, with flats, and the treble rolled off it does a usable job.
I bought it for shows we fly to, I don't trust baggage handlers with the Hofner.

Very thorough - thanks. I can understand not trusting the Hofner to baggage handlers.... considering the shape my checked luggage has come back to me in the last few years.
