Pickups - Mix it up

Post by ric330 »

Just wondering if anyone is using high gains and scatterwounds on the same Rick.
Like one of each (330 or 360) or 2 of one type one of another (370 or 340)

Kevin: I have had scatterwound toasters and a single high gain on my 350. At one point I had a toaster, a high gain and a humbucker on it. I currently have a single high gain in the neck position and two hot toasters at the middle and bridge.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Hey thanks for the reply.
I thought someone might have toyed with the idea and found it quite useful.

That 350 sounds like a laboratory experiment! 8)

I tried HB1s and the original hi gains(2005) that came on my 330FG in various combinations, but wasn't happy with any of them. I then put 2 toasters on her and really liked the sound. RIC has since come out with a new hi-gain with adjustable pole pieces, so I just recently slapped them in for comparison. I'm still tinkering around with them, but the neck is very sweet, and may end up getting a toaster cover put on it to match the toaster I may be putting back in the bridge position. I'm still on the fence though.
