Current favourite Rick video. Well, one of. I've already posted it somewhere else, so sorry if you've seen that already.

Notes.
1. It's from a comedy show. Supposed to be fun, you know. The guys snobbishly "promote" themselves as cool, superstars, true professional musicians, and then — well, judge for yourself. Therefore.
2. Don't shoot the fiddler — he was supposed to be really bad.
Nothing will get you dead quicker than being deadly serious about yourself.

So many members, so many links...forgive the Nation if this is already displayed elsewhere in this forum.
I wonder how many of you cats remember this band, or ever heard of them. No, this is not a pre-t.v./young Sally Jesse on vocals or bass. I saw Guadalcanal Diary in Dallas in '87, got autographs and danced with the bassist, not because she was hot, but because I could! This song is in my top 3 of '87, next to The Cult's Love Removal Machine, and REM's The Finest Worksong...enjoy! Litany, (Life Goes On) is so powerful!

Here we go...perhaps a bit unorthodox the RIC culture....but one of my favorites nonetheless....
I see your Fugazi and raise you this gem ......Not my favorite song by them but an amazing performance/demonstration
of Fugazi's unscripted push and pull.

Ian came to a skate shop in my town a few weeks ago for a q&a tour he's on . Still didn't crack much about fugazi .
Hiatus. I'm paraphrasing but (in essence)- "We didn't want to rule out the possibility of playing again by saying it's over ( and do the reunion thing)
, but for 15 years fugazi was our focus and with our lives and families now we can't give it the level of dedication we did/ it deserves."

Extra points for anyone who can explain what they're doing at the end w/ the feedback . Pitch shifters ? The boxes look like tuners. !!??

I really miss these shows.

Actually, this is one of my favorites. It's just a jam from the SoCal Confluence in '07, I believe.

I just came across the Clatter video while looking at some Rics on youtube.

I found Amy talking about her bass rig sometime yesterday first and then today (like 10 minutes ago) found the video and was like, "Wow. This is pretty sweet."

So, like a good soldier, I ran over here (not literally obviously :) ) and started to post a new thread... then decided to use the search button and see if it was already here.

Anyway, I thought it was pretty sweet and thought I'd say so. ;)

It's both a pitch shifter and a delay. Boss makes one that does both, and looks like a little stompbox, but may not be what he is using. The most noticeable time is between 4:30 and 5:00 on this vid, where the changes in pitch are just him manually turning the pitch control up and down, with a slow delay sweeping behind the changes getting that wet, fluidy sound. The other guitar staying at a set pitch and going through subtle variances in feedback actually provides a pedal like tone for the other guitar to harmonize off of. The Rick guitar mave have also at one point had the fretboard slid on the amp or a stand to give a slide like change in pitch and tone. Too hard to see what he is doing most of the time, so I can't be sure, it might have just been the delay sliding the pitch like that.

It's the technology curse put on me by my old rotary phone. Threw her out with the bath water in favor of a younger, lighter, more streamlined model. I finally get the Dymo label maker and calculator under my belt then that darn Commodore 64 came out and I've been trying to catch up ever since! I hear they now have computers coming out with 10 gig hard drives, I say no way man!

Ok, so I'm just a little behind.

I so want to make a Commodore 128 joke here but for the life of me I can't come up with a good one.

C=128 ruled me back then. I remember coding the music to INXS' Devil Inside in BASIC back in the mid-80s on mine for a home project I was working on.

The "Waters Part" video by let's active, as first seen by me on MTV's 120 Minutes, was the final straw in getting me to acquire my first Rickenbacker ('66 335). This isn't the original video, but a more recent performance by the RRF's very own Mitch Easter. After hearing the studio version for so many years, and never seeing Mitch live (come to NY!), I always wondered how this song would sound live. It's simply amazing.
