Just bit the bullet!

Post by egosheep »

I just bought my first Rick on ebay. It's a 2008 330 in JG. This is the guitar that I have been wanting forever and a day. I'm excited! I'll post photos when it arrives. :D

until then:

I also got 8% off with an ebay coupon, so I think I made out ok.

Nice guitar! Congrats!
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Final price out of pocket was $1,138.14, after discount. And its already been shipped out, it's due on Thursday. Can't wait!

Is the form fitting case more secure than a vintage-style case?

egosheep.......Props comin' your way for scoring your new 330/6 JG. Welcome also to the canteen --- glad to have you on board. After the beaut arrives and you have a chance to get acquainted with it, tell us how that "bullet" tastes. As far as which style case is more secure, it's a toss-up for me. I have both molded and vintage cases. I'd probably lean towards the molded case in terms of offering a skosh more protection. The vintage case looks sharp, though. Six of one and half-dozen of the other, IMHO. Whatever floats your boat is cool with me. Keep on keepin' on.......Goofyfoot.

Play on, pick often, jam with any Rickenbacker, and prosper.

Thanks for all the kind words, guys!

Ok, I haven't even opened the case yet, and I'm already hearing this voice telling me I need a 12 string... is this normal?

Yup. It's normal. I've heard voices saying I need a 4003 bass, and a Rick lap steel. It's called RAS (Rickenbacker Acquisition Syndrome). And they tell me it's incurable. I think you have it already.

yep, just keep doing what they tell you to (usually opening your wallet and then cracking a wide grin).

Nice guitar! Something about the cool simplicity of a JG 330 gets me every time, congrats and welcome to the club.
