I've got a '98 Korg TBX, which I love. But I could use a little more clarity, and a little less high end garbage when it's overdriven.
I use the brilliant channel almost exclusively, cranked up to a moderate amount of overdrive. Guitars are either a Rick 360 on the neck pickup, or a Gibson SG '61 RI on the neck pickup. I was going to replace the coupling caps and tone stack caps with Mallory 150's in hopes of warming it up a bit. I was also planning on lowering the filtering a bit (to the early 60's specs) in hopes of getting a little more clarity.
Stock OT will probably come out soon, as i'm making an order with MM in the coming weeks.
Questions are...
-Do you recommend any specific brand of mfd range signal cap in place of the stock ones, or would the Mallory 150's fair well?
-Any recommendations for the pf range caps?
-Will the early 60's filtering numbers get me where i'd like to be, or do you recommend something else?
And lastly...
-Any preferences for MM OT's? Wooden, Albion, Hadden?
Sorry if this has been covered a thousands times over. Thanks in advance for any advice/recommendations.
