Ok, I haven't even opened the case yet, and I'm already hearing this voice telling me I need a 12 string... is this normal?

It's only natural to crave a Rick in Mapleglo when you already have FG and JG!

Is there a certain stand I should get? I don't want to mess up the finish with some plastic reaction. The one I have now is a little scketchy. :?

Hercules stands have gotten favorable comments. Ultimate® stands are also good choices. I have one of these, and I'm not worried about the finish on my Rick being damaged. But I also store my Rick in its case.

The consensus is....only the cheap chinese stands that use clear surgical tubing on the neck support can damage the finish. I have used standard cheap stands, c alled "on-stage stands" for years with no reaction. They have orange rubber tubing for the neck and body support.

I'm also a big fan of wall hangers. Get the guitar up out of your way, and make it wall art!

Yeah, the voices are nuts. I had to put the checkbook in the safety deposit box and then I put it's key in the concrete for the mailbox post.

Are there any setup issues I should be aware of, since the guitar is used?
