As long as they have pickups wound to the 8-8.4k range. For me, best tone, best articulation, and good output.

That's a really nice example of what is a very coveted version of Ric bass. Beautiful aged FG, in far better condition that most, and that's a huge plus, original walnut wings, and flat grovers/bridge. Effectively, if you want a decent vintage Ric bass, this has to be considered.

Yes, the pickguard and p/ups aren't original, but you can find them, and then you will have one of the best vintage Ric bass guitars around.

You possibly might get anywhere from $3K-4.5K, even in this market, with the HS pushing up the price, but personally, I'd be looking to keep this bass as long as I could...

Thanks for the advice and opinions of everyone who responded. I will consider all of it and, hopefully, I can keep this one. Of all my vintage stuff, this was the most difficult one to acquire. As I mentioned, I've owned 5 different ones and the E string on this one is the only one I've owned that really jumps in a live mix. (please don't debate this I have my own opinions about this)

I don't want to get into a scuffle about value here. Just trying to get my money back out of my bass to pay my rent. If you think the price is too high, you shouldn't buy it. I'm open to a value discussion, but I'd prefer to keep it from being compared to extreme price examples. I think it's safe to say that market value for a bass with these features is significantly more than you paid for either of yours. If I can't get the money back out of it, I'll, likely, sell something else.

Easy there cap'n.no scuffle intended. Merely stating the facts regarding my basses . I believe yours should go higher because it still has walnut wings, and flat grovers. However , It has a massaged pickup cavity and non original pickups . If we want to get down to brass tacks here . Bottom line is , It will get what the market will bare. No more, No less.It is to rich for my blood and i wont even try to buy it . Hope you put a reserve on it when you do finally put it on the bay .
