Geez is there any room in here?

Post by ric330 »

I just noticed that the Rickenbacker Basses has more posts than all the other thread headings.
It's like a general admission concert line for "gates open at...."
I don't play bass but if I did I surely play a Rick.
Maybe I should consider getting one and tease my Bass player (Fender 'Jazz Bass' player).

The bass forum has always had about twice the participation of the guitar forum. We bassists are just more chatty I suppose.

Well I have to say that a great bassist makes a great band and a bad bassist ..well you get the picture?
Now if I could just get my bassist to put that Fender Jazz Bass down and give a Rickenbacker a try :?

It's either we are a chatty breed or we just don't have a life. Actually, and this is only my opinion based on my observations (worth what, 2 cents?! ) with bass and drums being the glue and laying down the groove, bass players are a more open, cooperative, and social type of personality.

I'm assuming you mean get them to play a Rickenbacker guitar instead of their other guitars.
I'm amazed how many people seem to play Strats, Les Pauls and PRS's etc. but never give much else a try.
When I first actually played a Rick I was pleasantly surprized at how dimensional they sound. I'd love to get a Rick Bass in the future and have some fun with that.

Yes. The rhythm guitarist plays a '93 Epiphone Sheraton, and the lead gutarist plays Teles, Strats, Carvins, and he just bought a Steinberger. I have my '67 330 and '98 360V64 waiting for them.

Your rhythmer may have difficulty with the narrower fretboard after using a Sheraton. Mine is wide enough for fingerstyle and I often relate to it like an acoustic guitar. Think aircraft carrier.
