That's right Paul. I had a '00 330/12 TUR with ROS in the regular jack, and a mono jack in the guard, for those quiet nights at home.

I've pretty much run my basses dual for the last 30 some years, using the Ric-o-sound and a splitter. I used to use those dual channel bass amps years ago, and have used a guitar amp for the treble, bass for the bass. I like the versatility so much I just can't imagine going mono, in fact, I'm modifying my 4004Cii for stereo.

These days I run the treble into a Sansamp RBI, the bass into a Sansamp RPM, lots of tonal possibilities with that...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

It has toasters at the neck and bridge positions on the standard 5-knob 330 system and a toaster-cover-converted-high-gain in the middle with just a volume control. They all run to a stereo jack and a Y-cord. From there you have two totally separate outputs to play with through different amps, channels, effects, etc. If you don't feel like messing with the dual-mono thing, you simply plug a regular guitar cord into it and it works the same as a stock 330 system. There are some interesting options with the dual system. I think they're most helpful when you are looking for moderate changes or subtle effects and mix in some unaltered sound on one line with something run through effects on the other line. I very oftem mix a JangleBox on the neck/bridge circuit with a normal signal on the mid pickup circuit. Sometimes also a chorus or reverb pedal or tremolo on one side (I don't use much overdrive on twelves). The sixth knob on the middle pickup lets me dial in as much unaltered tone as desired into the mix and the knob to adjust it is right there in easy reach on the pickguard. Works quite well. My 360/12 is rigged similarly, but uses both output jacks at once and a double Y cord or two cords.

I started doing this on some of my basses in 1972 and it generates some tones that you simply can't get with a single, mono output. Back in those days, most of our amps (Fender Twins, Super Reverbs, Bassmen, Bandmasters, Acoustic Control Corp. amps, some Sunns, etc.) were dual-channel heads. These days they aren't as common on new amp designs (especially bass amps) so it gets more complicated if you aren't interested in dragging a second amp around. When recording, I always use two tracks for bass and two for the twelves. It gives greater adjustability later when you mix the tune.
My gosh Tod, you've got some nice  Ricks. That Maple glo is really nice and a very cool output rig.
...went in to buy a 52' Tele and walked out with a 360 Jetglo...

That split amp set up you are mentioning, sort of reminds me of the concept immortalized by the late, great, John Cippollina 8) of Quicksilver Messenger Service... and enshrined at the RRHOF. Regards

And long may his name be hallowed. Last time I saw him was at the old Rose & Thistle on California St. in The City. It was a drop-in appearance after a big show somewhere, I forget which one, and he was great. Unique. I lusted for that SG. There is no one else like him.

+1
Yeah, when I lived in The City, I think the last times I saw Cipollina was a Quicksilver "reunion" and they played Winterland around '74 or '75 and I saw Copperhead once... can't remember if it was before or after that QMS reunion. Then there was the Gravenites band .... The good old days of the S.F. psychedelic rock scene... Cipollina had a definite swagger about him playing that SG -- his movements on stage really showed his enthusiasm.

Right on, Rich. The Rose & Thistle surprise was about '76. I saw Copperhead too, at Winterland.

I hope no one is annoyed with a little drift here, because they should check out Cippolina's work to see what he did with his two output (stereo) SG. It's a lesson from a master. All his techniques are well documented too.

That sounds like a cool idea.
Throw a POG on the treble line for the next level of terror.
POG? Who'd want to use a Piece O' Garbage? Maybe there's some 'splainin' to do, eh?

It's a stomp box, Jim. It creates more voices at octaves or other intervals from your signal. Pretty scary. 8)

Hey, it could have been called Polyphonic Instrument Generator.
