Bring it on. :)
Man, you're a Rangers fan? You shouldn't even admit that while Avery is on your team. I was in Boston to see the Bruins play at the end of the season when Avery smacked Tim Thomas in the back of the head with his stick during a tv time out. That was one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen in hockey, and I've seen a lot of hockey. If anything, he's getting worse under Tortorella. If the Caps could score on the power play the Rangers would be done in by Avery alone.

Giving credit where credit is due, I will acknowledge that Lundquist is one fabulous goalie, and has always given the Bruins fits. The Caps can't roll 4 lines like the Bruins, and are suspect in net so they are ripe for an 'upset'. Unfortunately for the Rangers, the Bruins can roll 4 lines that can score, have a great power play and most definitely don't suck in net. Still, anything can happen in hockey. Avery is proof of that every time he steps on the ice.

According to the CBC Newsworld ticker this morning, the Canucks are facing the Penguins tonight...

Maybe they'll send Bob Cole to call the Penguins/Canucks game, live from Wilkes-Barre! The sooner that guy is off the air the better. I had to listen to him call the Bruins/Habs series and continually refer to 4th liner Byron Bitz (#61) as 1st liner Marc Savard (#91). All in all, a reflection of the quality broadcasting coming from CBC these days. Its a shame, although they have yet to rely on a monkey to make playoff predictions like TSN. I think we'll be seeing a Chicago/Detroit Western Final, and a Boston/Pittsburgh Eastern Final. Those Canucks are pesky though, and have a terrific goalie in Luongo. That could be a great series indeed!

Hey Kelly don't give up on or underestimate the resolve and skill of the Canucks. They are a lot better team than anyone wants to give them credit for. I suspect they will get past Chicago and The Ducks seem to know how to beat Detroit so things may get really interesting in the West.

Preaching to the choir, Kelly. I prayed for an end to the Cole/Neil horror show, and my prayers were half answered. I used to watch games on mute after my wife would tell me to stop talking to the TV (I used to correct their mistakes, so it was like I was calling the game myself).
Jim Hughson, any day of the week, thank you very much.

Bob Cole on CBC and the TSN monkey **** are the entire reasons I watch my hockey soley on RDS, the french TSN. Pierre Houde is classy, intelligent and makes tons of sense. But only if you understand French, and can get RDS. For my taste, RDS is much better than recent English coverage... and I'm a bloke from BC!

Thanks for the support for the Canucks guys. They sure aren't getting any respect on CBC.

The game against Pittsburgh did not materialise thankfully (what are they thinking over at that network) but the Canucks beat the Hawks tonight. Canucks 5 - Blackhawks 3

They gave me a few starts but at least the Canucks showed a killer instinct and buried them when they could. The bad news is that the Canucks gave up three goals because they became spectators for half a period.

Yeah, you can't sit back and hope the clock runs out against Chicago, but from what I watched the Canucks did well other than that. They'll do well to get past the Hawks, but then I'm afraid they'll run into Detroit. The Ducks won't beat Detroit, although they may try to beat them up. I think the only chance Anaheim has (and its a slim one) is to get to Osgood. My Bruins were looking good tonight too - I thought they may look rusty after 9 days off, but it was only close for a little while. Its been so long since the Bruins played in May I don't know what to do with myself - its awesome!

The Ducks were thrown off their game by a penalty that was borderline at best but looked really bad in replays because of the damage caused by the fall and the cut from the visor. All of the commentators on CBC agreed that the hit was a clean one.

The Ducks always seem to give Detroit a good run for their money and I think the jury may be out on that series. However I suspect that Detroit will win the series in 6 or 7 games.

Carolina does not want to finish their checks for some reason on Bostons big defencemen. Boston in four or five is my prediction.

Back to the Canucks. The Hawks managed to wake up a well rested and very hungry team that is starving for a bit of respect and the chance to sip from Lord Stanley's mug. Canucks in 4 or possibly 5 is my prediction.

I'll wait to see the Caps/Pens first game to make a definitive prediction but I suspect that the Penguins will beat the Caps.

I am going to have to revise my prediction unfortunately. It looks like the Canucks have suffered some key injuries and now I suspect that that they will lose the series to the Hawks. Salo left the second game in the series early after scoring a goal, Pavel Dimitra suffered an injury and left the game for a bit but came back and Johnson and Ohlund also got hurt again. Their overall health is quickly depleting.

I know Steve I was very surprised at how they handled the Hawks last night. They have a lot of injured players right now and they still found a way to win. This definitely is not the Canucks that I have come to know over the years. They have a lot more grit and determination than I have ever seen before.
