She's a good player, and a great chatterbox...it takes cojones to carry a band with one instrument. I don't care much for PRS hair colors, and "RickenBOCKer" is irritating, though.

Spank on, Amy! But, "Auto-Wah" is a dead end, girl...

And sing...

She's got some good songs on their CDs, IMO.

I don't understand this... :(

I don't know much about her music but I really like that JetGlo bass
I only heard that one tune but - Thanks for identifying it as a 4003.

Amy is a member of RRF. To play like that, those intricate lines, syncopate with the fills the drummer is playing, and also sing at the same time is awesome.

I should have notified you all, but Clatter (Amy's band) had a vote by e-mail on what songs she'd video of her doing the bass lines.

The voting ended yesterday. I suck. :(

In my voting, I implied that she do them all. She responded back that maybe she'd go nuts and do them all anyway. :)

I'm partial to JetGlo now that I own a 5 stringer JetGlo. Great color but a complete ***** to keep clean.

Search for +Scratch-X +Zymol and you will find a very good way to make it much easier.

Doing that already. I just tend to not wipe it off well after picking it up and playing on it.

Despite the 5 string cramp camp that is the fretboard, I seriously love just plucking it constantly.

As often as I pluck it, I definitely don't have the time to keep it as clean as it deserves.

Well, John Hall has gone on record that it's RickenBACKer, not RICKenbacker, so Rickenbocker ain't far off.

As for the tune, I really liked it. And the tone was great to me. It does indeed take some balls to carry a beat on bass and drums alone, and that bass line was some funky stuff and some good pipes as well. I give it a 9.5.
Can we have everything louder than everything else?

I've never heard it pronounced any other way than RickenBOCKer...

Is this something I'll have to change like I did with Linux (based on the guy's name Linus who pronounces his name Lee-nus so the pronunciation of Linux is not LIE-nuks)?

That's going to take a mighty change for me to adjust to since I've only pronounced it BOCKer for the last 20 years or so.

Actually, John's comments on this matter were more in the nature of addressing the issue of BACK vs. BOCK in the pronunciation, not where to place the accent. So, BOCK is not "close enough". It's wrong, is the point. And, if you listen to the phone message on the factory's voice mail, you will hear, "Thank you for calling Rickenbacker..." with a faint emphasis on the first syllable.

As JH says, "if Rickenbacker was good enough for Adolph, it should be good enough for us."

I grew up pronouncing it "Ricken-BACK-er" because that's how my parents said it, and then somewhere along the line, someone must have persuaded me that I was wrong and that it was "BOCK." Ever since then, I've either carefully slurred or mumbled that part of the word or just shortened it to "Rick" or "Ricky."

I am glad to know that my folks taught it to me right after all! And now I can proudly declaim the name of my favourite stringed instrument in public again without fear of embarrassment!

I'd irritate the hell out of you then, Paul! I mean I've said it that way for 20+ years...it's not gonna change now...
