All of the setup things you need to be aware of are contained in the owners' manual (downloadable from the RIC website!) and by using the "search" functions of this site and the RIC factory site.
Stay away from general guitar sites' Rick discussion, as they're laden with opinion and misinformation.

Great Ramp In My Opinion.
Re: Just bit the bullet!
Reminds me of something I saw on ebay a while back that had an unfortunate run-in with a crazed Sawzall driver...

I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

...except I believe it was Ed Roman, an authorized Rick dealer, who had it up for sale a few years back!
Re: Just bit the bullet!
Ok, here are some photos... it's night, the lightings bad, so I will be posting better ones soon. Just a few overall shots and two of the fretboard. I couldn't imbed these for some reason, but here are the links:

One concern... a small crack in the finish at the neck joint.

Is this a problem? Should I contact the seller, or just not worry about it? Any advice would be appreciated.
Aside from this, my overall impression is awe. Probably the most pleased I have ever been with a new guitar. It has a small headstock and i'm so glad. It's perfect. I haven't even plugged it in yet... I was struck by how loud and pronounced the harmonics were, all over the fretboard! I'm excited!

Great Guitar score egosheep! Welcome to Club Jetglo
With respect to the neck joint area it is probably due to the wood and finish moving due to temperature changes, materials settling, or many other normal situations that 0ccur with guitars. I'll have a close up look at it for you but I'm pretty sure it's fine. You fingers are going hurt tomorrow. I remember when I got my Rick I couldn't put it down - stayed up late, woke up early ... you get the idea....Enjoy!

...went in to buy a 52' Tele and walked out with a 360 Jetglo...
Re: Just bit the bullet!
Cool pics for a cool-looking guitar, egosheep. Thanks for sharing. I'm no expert in this area but the finish crack wouldn't concern me. Glad you are enjoying your new Rickenbacker. Again, congratulations! Best regards.......Goofyfoot.
