Guitar amp stand.

Post by fireglo67 »

I'm looking for any recommendations for the best guitar amp stand for my Vox AC30 CC2.
Up until now we've only played larger venues, so the amp was fine on the floor or on a table at the back of the stage, but now we're looking to play some smaller pubs and clubs, so I'm going to need to tilt the amp, or the poor folks in the audience at the front are going to loose their ear drums!

Any suggestions/thoughts/experiences appreciated.

Ta.

I like either the Vox chrome stand, or else an Anvil amp case! Either one is quite the business! :D

I have one of those top of the line flight cases, which are heavier though, so if you get an amp case, I'd sugest getting something a little lighter, namely one of the hard, rolling cases that are lighter and thinner, yet still solid enough to perch your CC2 atop. Unless you fancy doing a hefty weight room clean and jerk maneuver each time you pick the amp up in its case to put in your car or place on stage.

The stand, on the other hand, fits nicely over the top of the amp for carrying and transit, is much lighter, and completely cool looking! :D

Hi Rob.

I use one of these for my Hot Rod Deville:

http://www.quiklok.com/catalog/?p=produ ... ame=BS-317

I had to have it modified a bit so that the rear support didn't push the rear panel of the amp in but that was relatively minor.

Very sturdy, very steady and very reasonably priced. Folds up flat, too!! :D

Wow, not seen those before.
A tad pricey at $370, but it looks perfect for the job.
I'm off to check the 'bay first to see if I can get one second hand.
Thanks guys.

Thanks Howard, I've seen the quick lok ones advertised here, but they're really cheap and I was a bit worried they'd end up being false economy, but if they do the job well, for the price they look the business.

Cheers.

Aye it's a lot of dough, but the wheels on it would make moving the beast around so much easier, I'm not getting any younger and we don't have roadies!
What I really need is the quik lok stand with strong wheels on it!

I've got one, Rob, and the quality is better than originals were--the welds are gorgeous and plating nearly flawless.

I use one of these; $40! Works great, and folds flat for travel or storage.

So that's where the one out of my hotel went! I've thought about that before, glad to hear someone getting some good use out of one.

Paul, don't those NCM swivels have to be screwed in to your amp? I have the regular one, and it works great.

Rob, just turn up louder! :D
