Re: facebook
I'm a luddite. Ask Biscuti.
Re: facebook
I'm on FB.......as we speak. Second time around. Bailed the first time two years ago because not enough friends had taken the plunge. FB has its usefulness, particularly among schoolteachers. Peace, out.......Goofyfoot.
Play on, pick often, jam with any Rickenbacker, and prosper.
Re: facebook
I guess I'm on it too, but I only look at it when a few relatives of mine send me something (Does facebook have the "write on your wall" thing?). I haven't really figured out what it gives you over the old stuff like e-mail. Maybe I should mess around with it some more, if I can figure out how to log in again...

I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

I have a music site on facebook: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Robert-Ja ... 9551801908
Re: facebook
Laugh away, I'm computer illiterate, I can barely get my email and post here. Having said that, I have a Facebook page, and have no idea what info to give you to get to it, or links. Several other forumites are on it, you could look for me on their friends, or do a search for Mike Snow in the Los Angeles area(even though I currently don't live there.)
I like FB a lot better than MySpace, and seem to have much better luck networking and getting in touch with old friends and such.

I don't like these "social" sites that much as one's covered in silly game requests!

Re: facebook
i am on there,i don't spend a lot of time on it unless things are really slow at work (
)...it is interesting what pops up tho,i heard from a childhood friend i hadn't talked to in over 40 years, plus found out about some concert info i would have missed out on. (todd rundgren concert at a club in memphis) so it's kind of cool and fun sometimes. there appears to be no end of quizzes you can do,but i don't really care to know what kind of flower i am......
Re: facebook
There are quite a few Rickenbacker groups on Facebook, several with 100+ members. "I Know How to Jangle" was one group mentioned in this thread, are there others that anyone recommends?
The thing I noticed about FB since I started using it heavily late last year - there is a flurry of activity as you find old friends and acquaintances, post forgotten photos, find groups pertaining to your life and your past... and then after awhile, things die down. At least that's how it's been with me and the people I know with profiles.

Re: facebook
Facebook is a great way to attract people from your past who you never wanted to talk to again....
It's the electronic equivalent of running into someone at the super market who was a jerk to you in high school, but twenty years on, they seem to think you were their best friend, and they want to get together and "catch up".
Uff... No thanks. I already know how to get in touch with the people I want to talk to.

Re: facebook
+1. While I do have some of my best and closest friends on there, as well as a few friends from this forum, I had the pleasure of being added by a girl who tried to get me expelled from school, and a bully who never stopped picking on me. Both of them made my junior year so stressful. After they graduated May 2008, life immediately picked up.Mossman wrote:Facebook is a great way to attract people from your past who you never wanted to talk to again....
If anyone wants to hear the story about the girl, let me know, and I'll PM it to you, I remember the whole incident like it was yesterday
