Hmm, interesting explanation...

I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...
Re: If possible explain the diff in sound between the 660/12...
That was a cool read but I'll take the video's..............at least until I've had more coffee!
John, Killer 360 (and nice playing)! Re-necked at the Ric factory? I didn't know they did that kind of stuff. What were the main differences between the '66 neck and the McGuinn-spec neck? Wasn't the McGuinn neck supposed to be a re-issue of sorts of a mid '60's neck?

Yes I do:Janglyman wrote:Dr. Tom,
Do you really hve a PRS 12 string? How does it compare to a Rick?

I can't give you a direct comparison because I no longer own a Ric 12 String. I used to own a 360/12v64 but I sold it because it was too difficult for me to play because of the narrow neck at the nut. I replaced it with a 1966 Fender Electric XII after I saw and heard "If I Needed Some One " performed on a Fender Electric XII on the "Tribute to George Harrison DVD". The Fender had plenty of jangle and chime. Then I discovered the PRS. It had more jangle and chime than the Fender plus many more sounds; plus it plays like a 6 string. Now that I know that the 660 sounds like a Ric and has the wider neck I may just get one. Then I'll give you a direct comparison !!

Tom

How are the pickups selected on that PRS?
Re: If possible explain the diff in sound between the 660/12...
If you go to the second picture you can see the 3 way pickup selector switch; plus the tone control is a push pull, which let's you coil split the humbuckers; It's very versatile.dpowell wrote:How are the pickups selected on that PRS?

Thanks. Loving Rick's doesn't mean you have to stop loving other guitars!Janglyman wrote:I know this is the Rick forum, but that PRS 12 is one nice looking axe!
