Anyone ever remove the binding from a rick. Any tips, tricks?

Yup. I use a #5 Exacto handle with a #18 heavy chisel blade. Slip it under the binding and twist/pry gently, sliding the chisel blade along. The binding usually comes loose about 1/4" or so at a time. It's possible to remove it all in one piece if you're careful enough. Mostly, though it comes off in short chunks. At times you'll have to really sweat--it all depends on how well it was originally glued, and whether a previous owner has reglued it with super-glue or Duco.

Thanks. I figured it was going to be a tough tedious job. I was hoping it would peel off in long pieces.
