This stops just short of being a faker in a number of ways..

Well.. it's a neck thru bass with the same pickup positioning as a Rickenbacker but looks more Ritterish than Rickish
I don't mind the look...

Ha! I think bass guitar would be quite popular among Klingons... (A warrior's instrument!) But not those basses...

It is a bit of a moose - but at least it's not another Fender copy. I think this is an interesting (but failed) design challenge - to capture the "essence" of a 4001 without actually copying. Might have a go myself if I get a spare half-hour...

First thing that came to my mind was a Burns Bison, I find them ugly too. YMMV, of course :mrgreen:
