Faker in the Window!

Post by brycycle »

walking by Steve's music on Queen St today (a large shop w/ multiple locations here in Canada) - I thought i saw a Ric out of the corner of my eye; but it was one of these:

flaunted right in the front window...that's just cocky.

Speaking of fakers, I recently saw this trio in a shop while visiting Inverness Scotland. They also had a legit new 360 MID, which makes me wonder if they're also a Rickenbacker dealer (like "Steve's" in Toronto).

If these shops are authorized RIC dealers, RIC should know about it and deal with them.

Thankfully the beer was real! :)
I think this was "The Music Shop" on Church Street. There were two music stores as I recall - the one with the fakers and another that had more traditional Scottish instruments - fiddles, whistles, accordions, haggisphones, etc...

Well thats alright Steve but my favourite Scottish instrument is the Velcro Mits the left handed ones are especially hard to get a hold of. Gotta love the haggisphones.

It looks like the price on the "4003" is 2,000 pounds! I don't know the exchange rate offhand but isn't a new 4003 something like half of that?

+1

They should deal with them even if they aren't authorized RIC dealers, if there is anything they can do about it.
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS! :-)

£399 on the bass, looks to me. That would be $635 today.

I knew there was a really good reason for avoiding Steve's Music, other than the GC style sales geeks and the utter lack of customer service... mumble grumble...

I stopped going into any Steve's many years ago. And now I will never go back. Here in Montreal, if you mention Rickenbacker, they walk away from you. Their supposed to be our dealer fer gosh sakes!! And anytime I did get a price, it was less expensive and easier to get by payin g over 20% exchange rate, shipping and clearance to get from the US!!

But they will put this in stock??? Jerks will be jerks, and usually get their come-uppance. From me, no money spent there, ever.

Man, I wish!

£2,000 is actually often less than a new 4003! :( :(
