Anyone heard from Dale Fortune?

Post by Houka »

I've been trying to reach Dale via email for a while now and have been able to get ahold of him. I know he had some health problems back in the fall and am hoping he's alright. Has anyone heard from him lately?

I posted this on the RIC forum as well, but the thread was almost immediately locked/deleted.......is there some issue between Dale and RIC?

Yeah, I think Dale had some suggestions or something that weren't well appreciated.

You can reach him on the Beat Gear Cavern forum, he posts daily. you might have the wrong email address?

HA! Dale told me he would do some work on a 4003 for me. When I was ready to send it to him, I never heard from him. No returned emails or calls. That's messed up.

When did you call? I seem to recall him having a parent passing away in a very slow manner, He was at a deathbed for month's it seems.

Dude, what email are you contacting? He doesn't use the fortuneguitars email anymore, and is very active/responsive on a different forum. No need to slag him

I had a similar experience Joey. Dale and I had communicated about a refin project, but when the time came to send him the bass, I couldn't get hold of him. After several weeks I gave up and contacted Paul W. about the project. To have Dale "disappear" like that with no explanation was definitely a bit strange.

I didn't say one bad word about him. Just telling it like it is. I was in full contact with him until I set to ship, then I never got a reply from him again.

Fair enough. That's weird, and doesn't reflect my experience.
Andrew, as someone else said, try contacting him at the BGC.

If memory serves, Dale had been very ill last year. Having had a forced hiatus myself, I know that lots of things can slip between the cracks when you are getting back on deck, and you can find that during an extended absence all sorts of operational parts of your business fall apart, and your memory and whole mental state can be totally messed up to a much greater extent and far longer than one would believe. It may be worth popping him a line Joey!

Does anyone have a current email and phone for Dale? I've called several times over several months but no reply and I'm just across town. If anyone has those, please PM me with them. Thanks!

I'm not on facebook but a quick google on Dale shows that he is (a pic of him holding a cool Ric confirms the identity) - if you are not a luddite like me you could contact him via this new-fangles social networking thing....

I have never had a problem reaching Dale via phone. Mark Arnquist, however, is another matter entirely. I strongly advise anyone contemplating sending work to the elusive Dr. Quist to contact me first.
