Mark - cool evolution - I have some shirts from my late teens early twenties - mostly used as rags now.... alas, I think my ex trashed my pictures from that period. Same pants? You've gotten taller... I do like the new footwear much better! The bass looks much better now as well.

Congrats also on the anniversaries of the V63 & 4003S MGBT. Definitely a couple of significant milestones there! Favor - for those of us (namely me) too lazy to search backwards through this thread, could you post the pics again? Maybe that'll give you inspiration to take some new pics!
Too kind, my friend, too kind.

Here is the 4003S, but I will have to wait till I get home to post a new one of the V63 - all I have are the ones Kevin sent when I was buying it.

Hey - that looks great with the horseshoe PU! I suppose you've already considered making it black to match the rest of the hardware?

Actually the chrome of the shoes and the little bit of chrome of the neck '73 higain look REALLY good with the black trim. If you like the pic, it looks better in person.

I just wrote myself a note to photograph the V63....

Okay Mark, just for you. Most of what I took were blury, these just pass.

Kevin, sorry if these raise any remorse attacks.... :(

Thanks, John. Sweet cut of wood.

I'm sure most know the answer to this, I've just never noted it - when did RIC stop making the necks with the "skunk stripe?"

The skunk stripe stopped with the introduction of the 4003. There was, as usual, some overlap where 4001's and 4003's were produced so it's hard to pin down an exact date.
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

And the 4003 was introduced... when? 1981?

Sometime around 1980 or 1981. I'm not really sure when the "official" first 4003 appeared, perhaps nobody really knows. I'm sure there are others who can pin it down better than I can...

I've seen a couple of 4003s with SL serial numbers which would be Dec '79 which might have shipped in early '80.

(Big fat bump)

Wow! This thread's getting rusty!

Here it is Sept - any anniversaries out there? Those with June-July&August birthdays feel free to chime in as well.
