If I had to save just one, it would be the 370/12 RM (1990 model year, #975 of 1000) . It has a special place in my heart since it was my first RIC acquisition. I bought it used (near-mint) in 1993 at a local music store for $1300. The onboard compressor is awesome!

Now there's food for thought. Got me to thinkin' what I'd do, but come to think of it, this situation did arise. During the 07 San Diego Co. fires we got a reverse 911 call ordering a mandatory evacuation. The Ricks were the first items into the car, then the the vital papers/photos, some clothes, spouce, 2 mini dachshunds with newborn litter, and our son. No way were the Ricks gonna burn! I stayed home with a garden hose and extinguishers. But I'm no family hero; I remember thinking, "Hmm, if my boy stays I could get the Martin in."

Thank you all for the kind words. What's great about the Rickenbacker Company is that these Limited Editions not only look gorgeous, but they also play and sound terrific. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Rickenbacker guitars, especially their 12-strings, are truly the "Rolls Royces" of the guitar world!

I tried a new amp set-up just today. My path is: Guitar to a MXR SuperComp (the black one), Ibanez Analogue delay, then out to two amps. One amp is a Vox AC 15 with a 12" Celestion Alnico Blue speaker, and the 2nd amp is a Fender Blues Deluxe (original early 1990's issue) . I find the resultant sound very spaceous and well- balanced, as the Fender amp is a tad warmer and cleaner than the more trebly Vox. I set the 3 knobs on the SuperComp to around the 2:00 position and set the Ibanez delay to a slight slap delay for a nice, full doubling effect. The actual delay is set up to work only on the Fender Amp since the Ibanez delay is not a true stereo delay. I should try my Boss Stereo Delay pedal to see if it enhances the spatial effect. I have a Jangle-Box, but I find it a little harsh.

When playing my 370/12 RM, I eliminate the MXR compressor and just use the on-board compressor set to the position that gives maximum compression with treble boost. I first run the guitar through a Boss NS-2 noise suppressor, which transparently takes care of any hum or buzz that the on-board compressor sometimes creates.
