Introducing The Newest Member of The Family

Post by bitzerguy »

I got my first ever 360 model today. We are now a 4 Ric family. 2 FGs (350V63 and 660/12) and 2 JGs (620/6 and now this one):

1992, has definitely been played in a smoky environment ans has a couple of clear coat nicks, but nothing to the paint. Very yellowed binding and inlays. But I got it from the original owner, original store receipt, warranty card all filled out but never sent in, and all teh case candy from 1992. The case has the guys band name painted on it. Black tolex.

The action is perfect, the bridge is in the middle of the height adjustment, and no electrical issues. The first of what I eventually hope to be matching 360/3 and 360/12. Perhaps one day I might even be able to add a matching 4005... (if I'm lucky.) Hey, after finding this one, I can dream can't I? After playing a couple of V64s and a WB, I knew what my next Ric would be. I was lucky enough to find it only a week after ORAC and the decision to hunt one down.

Now for the Scratch-X and Zymol treatment...

Nice find Dean! Are you going to keep it stock or give it the "David Love" treatment?

Stock for now Steve. Vintage knobs and toasters may be in it's future. I'll see once I have had a chance to play it a while.

I have the matching 12 string from the same period. My binding is white though and just like one of the changes that you are contemplating, I added toasters.

Congrats Dean. :D

Speaking from experience, one can never have enough double bound models in one's guitar stable! :D

Thanks for the kind comments everyone. I got a preliminary cleaning done with enough time to play a bit. I was left alone in the house for a couple of hours, so got a chance to crank it up a lot. I just love this guitar. It needs to have the 009s taken off and a proper set of 010s put on with a good set-up, but it plays slick as all get up as it is.

I know you have her mate Brian. Lucky, lucky... Jeff has the 4005 as well. We'll just have to find a way to get together and play at least one song with all double bound JGs. What a great group look that would be.

To all who own or have owned double bound models, I know why they ignite such passion. They are beauty queens. I consider myself very fortunate to be a proud owner of one now.
