Transonic 70??

Post by Zentner »

Anyone have one, heard one, seen one, played one, or have any information on one?

Having a hell of a time finding anything about them on the web... (aside from the one site dedicated to ric amps making mention of them)

And finally... if I were to find one... an appropriate price?

Thanks!

No one? C'mon.... someone's gotta have some experience with these...

Does anyone have an approximation as to how many of these, or Transonic 100's or 200's were produced then?

According to Bob Rissi there were at least enough to gear up for production, say 25 or so. It was the last gasp of the Transonics, actually a superior guitar amp sonically. No schematic that I know of. Value?? A real clean one should go for a grand, eh? Or?

Very much so. Sonically, the T70 really steps out. Not as loud as a T200 but what? I mean, you can't use a T200 anywhere anyway unless you carry replacement parts for your ears. Loudest freakin' amp I ever owned. Cut'cher head off like a guillotine.

The 200 is the loud?

My current bass setup is 700 tube watts -> 6 15's.... so I know loud pretty well, but I'd LOVE to have a go on a Transonic 200!

How does the 70 differ sonically from the 100 and 200? I would just assume it's a little thinner and brighter than the 100 and 200, but I have no clue.

Also, does the 70 have a fuzz circuit?

The basic 70 is like any other guitar amp of the period. Treble, bass, reverb & tremolo. That's it. Electronically, it's not related to the 100 or 200. Only cosmetically.
