YOU TUBE OF THE DAY--THE GOOD, THE BAD, THE UGLEE

Re: YOU TUBE OF THE DAY--THE GOOD, THE BAD, THE UGLEE
Well...things from across cultural divides frequently look 'silly', but keep in mind that every one of those moves is straight out of the British Army parade manual...just ratcheted up a few thousand notches based on the ancient and powerful emotions involved. And it is phsically impressive...I mean, how high can you lift your leg in combat boots while maintaining a rigid posture? Not that high, I'm guessing. Also worth pointing out: these guys, on both sides, are well over six feet tall for maximum intimidation value, and all are the equivalent, in strength, training and intensity, to our Special Forces troops.
I just know I wouldn't want any of 'em mad at me...

Dylan has actually gotten better with age... IMHO.wayang wrote:A very good point, David, and it also brings up the fact once again that life isn't fair...we want to hear the lovely high voice of the younger Thomas and feel cheated out of it...whereas Leonard Cohen, whose voice sounds like a rusty hinge on the Gates Of Hell, has no trouble pleasing the crowd as much as ever he did...

I kept imagining some kind of exotic animal when watching them "front" each other. Like something you'd see on Animal Planet or National Geography channels. Almost like odd mating rituals, but definitely territorial.wayang wrote:Well...things from across cultural divides frequently look 'silly', but keep in mind that every one of those moves is straight out of the British Army parade manual...just ratcheted up a few thousand notches based on the ancient and powerful emotions involved. Indeed! Maybe you and Mr. Bradshaw could join forces on a proper Rickenbacker vessel.
The only way to travel the high C's.
