Dusan Palka has sent along a very nice review of his first impressions of his new 700/12 Comstock. You can view his comments here. Your comments are appreciated.

Do the new acoustic RICs have an output jack on them? And if so, where?
I recall three-or-so years ago when the acoustics were first placed on the RIC website, there was mention of the optional "E3 ribbon transducer." Later, as this current batch was ramping-up for production, it was said this option would instead be standard equipment. Unless I misunderstood, I was told the output jack was going to be incorporated within the end pin. Looking at the end pin on Dusan's 700/12, I don't see a 1/4" hole to plug in.
John Williams' 730 photos don't shed any light on this either. If one can plug-in one of these guitars, how do they sound amplified?

These instruments are strictly acoustic as far as I know. It raises an interesting question, however, of whether there is any plan to put a customized piezzo pickup in them.

I agree Peter. Piezo is optional on the 380. Why not the acoustics?
I also wonder if pickguards will be introduced at some time - optional or standard. The gold pickguard on that 730 Jetglo-Johnny Cash-looking guitar at the bottom of the RIC Acoustic Department Tour page is quite appealing to my eyes.

The 380 system and the acoustic systems will not be the same (probably).
They mount diferently .
I'm sure JH wants to make a really nice acoustic first ,then worry about amplifing it later .
I'm curious about the neck and it's width?
Also I am glad to see it strung -Rick style .
How about headstock weight ?Does it dive like a Guild?
How about compared to a Taylor ?
Final note ....it looks great, but I wonder why no rosette? The checkered binding could be used there as well .

Oh, I realize it probably wouldn't be the same system as the 380. My point was that it would be nice to at least have the option, as one has with the 380 model.
Unless I was hoodwinked by an impersonator in the AURS chatroom, JH HAS (or, at least, HAD) quite a nice sounding pickup system for these guitars. What happened?
