YouTube RRF Group Now Exists

Post by Bighouse »

Greetings everyone. I have created a Youtube Group specifically for any members of this forum who may want to share videos with others. I really enjoy watching and listening to others play- both for just general entertainment and because I learn a lot and am enouraged to hear where others are and I hope to one day be!

Point your browser to: http://www.youtube.com/Rickresource to use the group.

I created it, but did so with some reservation. I do NOT want to step on anyone's toes- especially those of the RRF admins or founders. So if any such person wants me to hand over ownership of the group, or remove it, I'll be more than happy to agree to do so.

I enjoy the embedded videos members sometimes add to the messages we post in here, but thought it would really be terrific if we had a centralized location where we could locate such videos- without clogging up the RRF servers! I realize that Youtube isn't, perhaps, the best choice as it's sometimes block by workplace restrictions, etc, but hopefully it will be a nice connected venue for the members here to share in their love of Rickenbacker gear and their love of music.

Sincerely,
Robert Grandmaison

Thanks for doing this, Robert. It's a very nice gesture. I hope members will take advantage of this opportunity.

I guess it's time I stop fighting the inevitable and embrace You Tube, Facebook, My Space, etc. According to my teenage daughter, there's a very good chance I've become a curmudgeon! :D

Robert: Your initiative is appreciated. This provides RRF members with another option to consider in sharing their information and talent. It is worth mentioning, however, that increased vulnerability can come with increased exposure. Will you be able to monitor this new medium and let us know of issues that may arise? Who controls the information in these posts should the content and philosopy be inconsistent with the RRF? It is all that the moderators can do to keep with with the posts on this Forum.

Peter,

I will monitor the posts added/linked to the group and remove anything that is not appropriate. Now, like everyone, I too have a day job and a life so the internet isn't my life 24/7...so if anyone sees anything up there that needs to be removed, please send me a private email and I'll jump right over and remove it.

Thanks,

Robert

I just joined, under my husband's handle "marcopostal99." I've posted a lot of my videos on that account in the last year--I have linked some of the Ric-related ones to the RRF on occasion.

Thanks, Robert! I already have an analog (tape) camera, now I just need to learn how to get video that I have dubbed onto DVD edited down and into the right format.

I'm having a problem with this where I can only watch the "main" default video and can't select a new one; selecting a new one opens a blank window.

Happens on all browsers I try... Ffox, Camino, Safari, IExplorer
