Well i just got back from band practice and used the Ric properly for the first time.
Pretty pleased with it. Plays easily, still getting used to the glossy neck, but its not a problem.
I put some Orange bass strings on (something to do with rotosound/entwistle/original design, only place i've ever seen them is the bass cellar in Denmark St
http://www.myspace.com/thebasscellar you can see them on the myspace wall paper) and that really livened it up.
Intonation isnt quite right, but have just bought these bits and bobs...

I had the same idea, but this guy has saved me the trip to the hardware store and explaining it to a bemused shop assistant.
And i think that will make life a lot easier and sort out the intonation, and is reversible for originality.
The neck might need the tiniest of tweeks, the strings seem a little high when fretted 1-20 as suggested in the 'Anatomy' threads, but i'll let it settle with the new strings for a while first.
The neck pick up is a LOT quieter than the horseshoe, like loads quieter, but i'm pretty happy with the HS sound and tend to use FX for sound changes rather than the guitar anyways.
The HS doesnt get in the way at all, infact its a very usefull hand rest (i use a pick).
Its a bit farty/broken on the attack, but i think i have amp/speaker issues there too, so need to investigate with some other guitars first.
But all in all very pleased!
