Grommets vs. Pads

Does anyone know what year Rickenbacker switched from grommets to rubber pads between the pickups and the body? I'm sure if anyone knows, it's someone here.

Hi Russ,

This was discussed several months ago with input from Mr. Hall. Do a search on grommets and you should be able to find the thread with the ultimate answer. Let us know if you have trouble finding the thread.
