I don't know if he played any guitar or bass, but he did record with Sir Paul McCartney.

In retrospect he was a great talent who led a very troubled life. I was sorry to hear this sad news.

I agree with Brian. I must admit I was never an MJ fan, but there was no doubt about his success and talent.
A sad day to see two distinct icons of entertainment over the last thirty years succumb.

I just cranked Thriller. The album has a different feeling about it now that he's gone.

It's a pity he will probably be remembered in thirds: His music, his surgeries, his scandals.

Alfred Nobel, inventor of Dynamite, read his own obituary which was accidently published before the fact (obviously!). He was so soured by what he read and for what he'd be remembered, it prompted him to establish the Nobel Prize. He wanted to be remembered for something, well, noble.

I wonder if we all had a glimpse at our obituaries, how many of us might change something about ourselves or our actions?

What about the song rights catalogue ?? Did MJ still own that huge share of the Lennon-McCartney song rights or had ownership totally passed to Sony/ATV Music or some other conglomerate, when MJ was having his financial crisises a few years back ??

I tend to think he's dead, Brian. Or at least the LA coroner thinks so.

Michael lived the life of a Shakespearian tragic hero - a meteroic rise to the pinnacle of success and adulation followed by catastrophic decline brought about by his own flaws. I'm sure we all like to think we'd have been very different (and possibly better) in his shoes but I know that the media spotlight, the fawning entourage, and the opiate of such dizzying success would have served to bring my flaws very much to the fore. I'm deeply saddened by his decline and demise, and in particular the very public exposure it has received.

He was a creative giant - I'm going to miss the artist, if not the man.

Ebony and ivory wasent Micheal Jackson, that was Macca and Stevie Wonder. The girl is mine and SAY SAY SAY was Macca and Micheal.

MJ was of my wife Andrea's era, not my "cup of tea". But i must say i admired the sheer talent the guy had. Let's all hope his death was from normal circumstances, he doesn't need any more controversy! RIP
My favorite song of his?? "The way you make me feel"....IMHO it's a great piece of work.
