The Fender Bass VI was brought out because Leo was a country fan and was impressed with the sound of the Dano, so he determined to out-do the Dano. He did, if his aim was to create the ultimate liquid percussive bass sound. "Tic Tac" bass became a trademark style of country playing beginning with the Cash songs...
