Yeah, those 428's were almost ridiculous. A friend of mine back in high school had a Shelby GT500 with the 428 Super Cobra Jet engine. He put a pair of Holley 1250 dual pumpers on top of it and WOW! Of course, you could almost watch the gas gauge move when you stomped on it. He used to do some drag racing at the track, had some kind of racing tranny too. I don't really remember what his 1/4 mile time was, 11.7 seconds and 157mph comes to mind, but that was 35 or so years ago.

It was kind of fun to be at a stop light and have someone pull up and want to race. Pat never raced that way, he'd say, "Lets get on the freeway, side by side at 70 and start from there". Once in position, he'd punch it, break the tires loose and burn rubber for a few second. Pretty much everyone would back down at that point for some reason...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Nice Mustangs Greg, I also like the 69 Boss, is it the 302?
Yes, Robert it is a 302. We were lucky to source a genuine Boss 302 block in perfect condition. My ex-boss then proceede to spend over AU$60K on the engine alone. The car was originally a '70 model we bought from one of the local tech colleges. They were doing right-hand drive conversions, and once i'd stripped the shell back to bare metal and made my own measurements, i found the car was 2&1/2 inches shorter on 1 side!! They'd cut way to much metal out to do the conversion. Once i'd finished with the car, it was within 1mm of the original specs!
If i recall, that car cost at least AU$280K by the time it was complete!

I love Mustangs but it reminds me of this for some reason? I still love it though.
