Another of the great instrumental players gone. I can't think of a single song that I've heard of their's where his sound isn't perfect for what they were playing.

oh man! i guess i missed this one in the media flurry of other celeb passings. before i got into the beatles,i loved the ventures,and still love rock instrumental music. "apache" is still a favorite ,along with their version of telstar,and many many others. it is sad that he had a long decline there,at least he wasn't taken early.
