Nice one Kira!
I'd also like to suggest we all call our parents and say hi, today.
I lost my father 14 years ago on this day, and i miss him like hell!
Just a thought.
I love you Dad! :(

Still here, but not necessarily all here. :D

Yeah, this week has certainly left me with the impression of my own mortality. I lost my Pop sixteen years ago. And I still miss him, although in later years we were never really that close, more's the pity. (It was largely due to occupational requirements on his part, and geographical distance on my part.) I finally wrote a song about him a couple of months ago. It's the first melody I've ever composed using my Rick. (There! Rick content.)

The good news is I still have my Mom, and will be going out to the Left Coast to see her later this summer.

Yes, thanks to you all for being here still.

Still going strong here.............if I leave you suddenly would somebody come over and turn off the lights, mow my lawns and feed my dog? Thanks. I knew you would.

Too add to this...

Things with my mom and dad are pretty good right now. We all see eye to eye on a lot of things since I returned home from Orlando, and it's a good thing, really.

My dad's mother is still alive and kicking and loves me more than anyone. She lives about 20 minutes away from me, and I visit her almost every day. She's (roughly) 80 years old, and I make the most of it every day with her. Her husband died in 1978 (hey, strange period, Keith Moon died that same year), and he was roughly 77 years old. My dad has a brother, too, who (also) lives in Folsom and has a restaurant in Slidell, LA. Every time I'm in Slidell, I make a point to eat there.

My dad's side of the family is The Ketys', so I've been appreciating them a lot more lately.

Jake, does your uncle have truck parking at his diner? I'll be sliding past Slidell after I drop this trailer full of cookies off at the Sav-A-Lot warehouse in Hammond tommorrow morning.

Luckily, I still have my parents, and I am very close to both. I've had too many friends die, along with people I knew and admired. It's funny how mortality is such an abstract notion untill you are left facing it at different points in your life. I feel many paragraphs coming on, so I think I better stop

Haha, if it wasn't for a couple of hills I probably could see your neighborhood. But sometimes at night I do hear these strange distant sounds from your direction, kind of buzzing sounds ...
