Great story with a great ending. I got exactly the same result the 15 minutes 500k pots were in my 360/12 as well

Wow, Kenny
Great story.....and Great guitar....she's a beaut.....warts and all.
I sold my first Ric ( a 360/12 WB MG ) to Raul Malo of the Mavericks.....he
won a Grammy with that guitar and I think it's in some museum somewhere.
Way to go, though, Kenny.....I'm really happy for you.

Yeah, it was too much. Bright and crisp to the point of brittle.

This makes me want to cry tears of joy. Man, Kenny, you know how they say good things happen to good people? Well, it happened to you, my friend. It really did. Keep playing and rockin' out like you were born to! :)

This is the happy end to a great story. A BIG round of applause goes to Dr. Gary and Sean, too!

It was really amazing actually, both the 330 and 360/12 were unusable after I put those pots in. It was like a clank on metal everytime you picked. I've dinked around with guitars for years, and I've never heard such a drastic difference in sound by such a small change in pot value. Really weird. Glad I didn't try 1 meg pots

Ya gotta love stories like this.

I briefly sold my '79 4001 LH in 1983 for $300 to a friend, but I couldn't deal with it and had it back within about a year....other than that small window in time it has been with me ever since......29 years total.

I can't see how Kenny stood it this long, but it is great how it turned out.......UFB that it was a Byrd-wired 12 with a Walnut finish... .....Kenny it would be cool if you still had that stuff tucked away somewhere just to have it.......Damn I'm happy for ya. :D

That's a sad postscript to the story: I sold those parts & pickguard years ago. Maybe to someone here?

Fabulous story, Kenny. Every now and then you hear similar stories of lost and found again. It's always good when it works out in your favour. Maybe it's time to compose a new song on the old guitar? :D

Great to hear you are reunited with your first! I did the same with my 4005WB back in October '03, getting back from a friend who had it for over 20 years. It too, need neck/trussrod work but I got that straightened out just fine (my first truss rod removing experience). :D

Kenny - The feel-good story of the year

Jdog - The most irreverent, hilarious post of the year.

Congrats to you both - this is truly a memorable thread!
