I sold my first Ric ( a 360/12 WB MG ) to Raul Malo of the Mavericks.....he
won a Grammy with that guitar and I think it's in some museum somewhere.

Yeah, it was too much. Bright and crisp to the point of brittle.

It was really amazing actually, both the 330 and 360/12 were unusable after I put those pots in. It was like a clank on metal everytime you picked. I've dinked around with guitars for years, and I've never heard such a drastic difference in sound by such a small change in pot value. Really weird. Glad I didn't try 1 meg pots

I briefly sold my '79 4001 LH in 1983 for $300 to a friend, but I couldn't deal with it and had it back within about a year....other than that small window in time it has been with me ever since......29 years total.

I can't see how Kenny stood it this long, but it is great how it turned out.......UFB that it was a Byrd-wired 12 with a Walnut finish... .....Kenny it would be cool if you still had that stuff tucked away somewhere just to have it.......Damn I'm happy for ya.

Great to hear you are reunited with your first! I did the same with my 4005WB back in October '03, getting back from a friend who had it for over 20 years. It too, need neck/trussrod work but I got that straightened out just fine (my first truss rod removing experience).
