Re: The Church - Ric BASS sighting
Cool! I knew he was looking for a 70s 4001.
Glad he found one.

Re: The Church - Ric BASS sighting
Saw the Portland show last night. Very cool show and MWP sounded great on the 4003 FG.
Re: The Church - Ric BASS sighting
As a side note The Church's new Cd "Untitled #23" is quite impressive. Beautiful songs supported by brilliant guitar work. My favorite since Starfish.

'Tis neither! It's an '80s 4003 FG, on loan from RIC.paologregorio wrote:Cool! I knew he was looking for a 70s 4001.Glad he found one.

I found this out via PM last week.

The FG is so rich on that bass it had me fooled as to vintage! Props again to Maestro Behring!
Re: The Church - Ric BASS sighting
That's pretty cool of RIC to do that. Whenever Marty picked up that bass on stage he had a huge smile on his face and you could tell he was really enjoying himself. Real interesting slides up the neck too.
Re: The Church - Ric BASS sighting
Saw them in Denver last week or so. MWP tech girl said the 370/12 JG was from the 75th party. It has vintage PUs, tuners and TRC. Could not tell if it had checkered binding.
Great show
Great show
Re: The Church - Ric BASS sighting
Saw them Saturday night in Pittsburgh. Marty played the 370/12 and 4003 for at least half the set. Great performance!
Re: The Church - Ric BASS sighting
Kenny, I said to my friend that the 4003 looked like the 1982 Fireglo, but maybe a new AFG. What can you tell us about the 370/12, was it a gift from the 75th party as she said?

The FG 4003 bass is not quite that old, it's an '87 or so. Very nice orangey Fireglo there.xcoyle wrote:Kenny, I said to my friend that the 4003 looked like the 1982 Fireglo, but maybe a new AFG. What can you tell us about the 370/12, was it a gift from the 75th party as she said?
My pal Davida (Marty's tech) is mistaken - the 370/12 JG Marty is using on this tour is a McGuinn model he got new, years before the RIC75 show. (Davida is one of the guitarists in the Electric Mood Maidens, btw.)
Re: The Church - Ric BASS sighting
MWP's had that 370/12RM forever it seems. By the way, Davida, aside from being an accomplished musician herself, is an adroit, spot-on guitar tech, stage hand, etc.

Re: The Church - Ric BASS sighting
The last time I saw them at the Wiltern Marty was still playing the 1993/12 he was photographed holding in the RIC promo photo.longhouse wrote:MWP's had that 370/12RM forever it seems.
