Re: HMDYLYB?
I sold my others, not completely out of necessity, just because I felt my between my 4003s and a 4003FL I had exactly what I needed. That's gotta mean something.

Hmmm, ice cream, well, it's OK. Beer on the other hand, well, yeah, I think I like beer better than my Rick basses. Yeah, I could live without the Rick basses (I did for quite a few years), but beer????

I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...
Re: HMDYLYB?

Re: HMDYLYB?
What I love is being in a band and playing out live. I really like all of my basses (and guitars, amps and synthesizers - some of them even have names), but in the end they are simply tools to get the job done. There has always been at least one Ric in the stable for the past 24 years, but after losing a few much-loved basses over the years from accidents and theft, you learn not to get too attached to any of them. There are a few, however, that I will not even think about parting with - my '08 Rickenbacker 4003 JG, my '07 white Spector Euro 4 LX, my '07 red sparkle MusicMan Stingray and my '08 white Gibson Alex Lifeson ES-355. I just got a call from Wildwood Guitars, and they told me my new Ric 4004Cii MG has arrived. I'll pick her up tomorrow, and we'll see if she ends up becoming one of my primary live basses - I hope so.
Re: HMDYLYB?
my girlfriend insists i love my bass more than her, it certainly nags less...!

I love them all, for a short time.

I don't even mind that it's yellowing.

I'll still love mine even when I'm 64...
Because I told you before- oh, you can't do that.
