What's "DAW"?
Because I told you before- oh, you can't do that.

Digital Audio Workstation.

Basically, any computer with recording software, such as Logic, Protools, Sonar, etc.

I use a Line 6 Toneport UX2 which I've been really happy with. The Gearbox software that comes with it has some excellent supplied amps and a ton of additional models can be purchased. You can customize your own, too. USB powered, low latency.

This was the beginning:

I saw both the SoundDroid and EditDroid at a NAB show in the mid '80s, where I met Douglas Trumbull and was invited to a private screening showcasing his Showsan film system:

It is too bad Showscan did not take off, as it was clearly quite superior to IMAX! :D

Just an update on this.

I've ordered a Tech 21 Liverpool pedal which should arrive in the UK soon, so I'll post a report on how it sounds connected up to my software.

I'm really hoping it's as good as the review/You Tube clips suggest, it could be a big problem solver.

Anyone have anything to say on them?

Cheers

Still really digging mine. I would recommend the follwing as a starting point for you as this pedal is extremely sensitive. The eq on this pedal is active and the smallest of adjustments can make a big difference. This can be very frustrating initially, as the recommendations in the manual can be somewhat misleading. The treble will seriously kill a dog, so make sure whatever you have this plugged in to has the treble set a half or below the max setting. The mids can mud things up very quickly, perfect for a fat rock tone, but de-jangles the sound of your Rick. The bass tends to get a little dominating as you increase it, so really be aware of that when turning it up. Like the manual says, it is better to subtract what you don't want then to turn up what you do. Finally, leave the level somewhat low when you dial it in so you don't clip your DAW input and get the best sound. After you have the tone you want, you can slowly bring up the level to where you want it in the meter.

Ok, I used my 330 with both Toasters and the new adjustable High gain pickups, and found the settings to be quite similar for both. I can't say how these would work on other guitars, so you'll have to dink with that on your own. These settings that I have found will get you in to the ballpark of the listed bands, and you can fine tune it from there.

I've labeled settings as 0 being far left, and 10 being far right.
Level-3
Bass-3-4
Mid-1-2
Treble-3
Character-Early Beatles-3 0r below
Early Who-3-4
Jam-4-5
Increasing the character past 5 gets you more in to the classic rock type thing perfect for leads, but won't have a sharp, crunchy, Marshall like sound if you're looking for that.

Drive-Works a little different than you would expect. Turning it up not only increases gain, it changes the character a little bit. Any clean to slightly driven 60s type sounds are between 1 and 4, overdriven Jam sounds between 4 and 6, Brian May type stuff after 6-with single coil high output pickups working best.

Hope this helps out, and be sure to post your stuff when you get done recording :D

Hi Mike,

That's great, thanks for posting the info on your settings. It's always a massive disappointment when I get a new piece of gear, and upon initial playing it sounds worse than I was expecting. I have little patience when it comes to tweaking, I'm one of those blokes who wants it to sound great from the off!!!

These settings will no doubt help to begin with, so many thanks for sharing.

I must learn to become more patient, as in the past when I've bought something I will usually end up selling it a week later as I cant tweak it instantly. I'm like a child!! :)

Cheers
