1995 Fireglo 610/6 no longer in Kingston . . .

Post by joey_capps »

now in Waterdown and it's mine!

Image

It is in near mint condition. There is a small chip in the headstock near the high E tuner that I didn't notice until I got home, but now that I know it's there I can even see it in this photo (taken by the seller). C'est la vie. At least I won't be the first to damage it. Otherwise, it is pristine.

Apparently, it spent the last 10 or so years in a closet, unplayed--attested to by very little fret-wear.

I think I prefer the look of the 610s to the 620s--perhaps because I now own one--especially the bodies. I like the softer, rounded edges compared to the shaper binding.

Nice grab Joey! Congrats. You'll have to bring it to the next Canadian get together.

Yes! I played it through my Fender ProTube Twin at rehearsal last night, and it sounds great. From what I can tell, it doesn't have quite as much gain as my 360, hence less feedback and drive, but it seemed to be slightly mellower. I'll have to do a side-by-side comparison through the Fender someday but it's quite a climb to our rehearsal space (four long flights) and I usually only bring one guitar. They sound very similar through my little Gretsch Electromatic.

The twenty-one frets and dot inlays messed me up a couple of times last night. Once I simply ran out of frets--sorry can't play that chord on this guitar--and I kept playing things a tone lower. I'm sure I'll adjust though. :D

And, yes, Brian, I've added it to the register. I'm waiting for conformation. :D
