Model of the Week Eleven: The 2030/2050

Re: Model of the Week Eleven: The 2030/2050
I usually keep rounds on mine. It works fine with flats, but I think the rounds give me a broader range of available tones that also pretty much include the type of tone range that I would set it for with flats, maybe with just a bit more definition. I have several sets of strings - tape-wound, TI flats, half-rounds, Chromes and several sets of rounds that I rotate between the 2030 and my Pedulla Buzz. A set of S.I.T.rounds seem to be the current favorite on the 2030.

So, thats what is in that 48x16 case!fatcat wrote:Would a 2030 work better with rounds ,or flats?

No, the case is empty

And it sounds just fine with the whatever rounds that came on it.It's quickly becoming a favourite and I can't wait until next Sunday's practice to see how well it gets along with my gigging amp which stays at the drummer's practice room.

I would think that an empty case with roundwound strings on it would sound pretty strange!fatcat wrote:And it sounds just fine with the whatever rounds that came on it.It's quickly becoming a favourite and I can't wait until next Sunday's practice to see how well it gets along with my gigging amp which stays at the drummer's practice room.

Next time we meet up, perhaps you can give me a lesson on how to play it while it's in the case-
( It's in a stand now as I keep picking it up too often.Case is still empty.)

I keep EB Super Slinkys on mine. I like the tone, but can't say I've ever had it strung up with flats to compare.
Re: Model of the Week Eleven: The 2030/2050
I'm really liking it's tone , so I'll wait a bit before I change the strings.
The overall quality of it is outstanding, it's too bad they aren't still an item.

Cool! Looking forward to some more pics!
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...
Re: Model of the Week Eleven: The 2030/2050
Yep it's a nice one for sure.Blue beats white.
Mine's been out to 4 gigs now, and I haven't had to tune it since the first one.
It's hands down my favourite Ric to play.
