If I end up at Law School in FL I can breather easier. If I end up at an OC law school, I'd best pack a rain suit in my saddlebags if I plan on two wheeling it on the BSA.ajish4 wrote:Thanks for the VERY GOOD NEWS Kira!

At least we can look forward to Southern California receiving some much needed rain, and I should probably start digging a cistern to catch all the rain water in preparation for the next California drought!
Re: Look out! El Nino is back!
More bad news: Tony, I think I read further that this ain't that kind of El Nino." On the positive side, El Niño can help to suppress Atlantic hurricane activity."

What I heard on NPR, Tony should be happy.

Re: Look out! El Nino is back!
I'm not 100% positive that I understood the article correctly about that. All I wanted to know is what it will do on the West Coast, and I have a sneaking suspicion that it's going to be rough for a lot of folks.

Well, we do need the rain...
Because I told you before- oh, you can't do that.

Re: Look out! El Nino is back!
I got caught in an El Nino hailstorm between Phoenix and the California border on my BSA once; hail really hurts!
Re: Look out! El Nino is back!
"it typically brings ... less wintry weather across the North"
WOOPEE!!!!!!! After last winter's 120+ inches (I actually wore out a snow blower!), this is welcome news. Next summer should be a lot warmer too! We opened July in the upper 50s-lower 60s.
One amazing fact (to me) about all this is that it has been going on forever, and some attribute it to global warming.

Paul, supposedly Minnesota and Iowa are currently getting grapefruit-sized hail. OUCH!!!!paologregorio wrote:I got caught in an El Nino hailstorm between Phoenix and the California border on my BSA once; hail really hurts!

Well, my bit of Minnesota has been confidently expecting rain, thunderstorms and general mayhem all day, according to our illustrious forecasters.johnallg wrote: Paul, supposedly Minnesota and Iowa are currently getting grapefruit-sized hail. OUCH!!!!
So far today and tonight, it's been dry as a bone. Not a drop. This has been the pattern so far this summer - the more Super-Dopplerific-O-Matic their technology gets, the more imprecise it becomes.
Thankfully, I have a nice responsive pine cone in the basement that seems to be much more reliable.

An El Nino winter typically brings a lot of rain to California. SoCal news/weather people will be very happy, gives them plenty to talk about. Just a few drops of rain and a puff of wind and they are on storm watch.
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS!

El Nino, may give you guys lots of rain, Joey but its bad news over here in South East Australia. It just means the drought goes into its eleventh year. Melbourne's dams are now at 26% capacity and tighter water restriction are just round the corner. No rain this winter and things are looking grim.rickenbrother wrote:An El Nino winter typically brings a lot of rain to California. Then again, if we could just get Aitch to drink imported beer, we might be OK.
But even worse is the **** surf we get in my area during El Nino's.
Those are my principles, and if you don't like them... well, I have others.
Re: Look out! El Nino is back!
I think when Aitch gets back he'll be able to fill your reservoirs to capacity!
