I've taken mine down to show the guys at the local music store. They admired the build quality, and finish etc, then we plugged them into an AC15.
They just sat there and smiled.

Usually, there's a 90% chance people will admire my Ric when I bring it somewhere. Always a cool thing to have people admire your cool toy. 
I believe that I'm the only musician out here in the Big Easy area to actually own a Rickenbacker, let alone two.

So as I was running a few errands downtown this afternoon, I stopped by a guitar store to drop off handbill about an upcoming blues jam. I overheard one of the store employees say to somebody else "He's the guy with the Rickenbacker."
I said "Yup, that's me." It was only the second time I'd been in there since I got my Rick last April. I was a little amused by it all.
