really gorgeous finish on that one, shane! is this an amber,or "standard" fireglo? either way,it's just beautiful. also good to know the "bridge" pickup on these are capable of the burpiness factor....mine is supreme with the rearward pickup spacing....

That looks dead-ringer for the bass I played (and reviewed) from Wildwood. The one-sided flame even.

I was thinking of snagging it...! Great pick.

From what I gathered from Shane, it is the one you tried out.
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Very good then... it inspired in me a renewed belief in the 4004 model. What a great bass this is.

Thanks guys !!! :D

Woody, it is a Fireglo, but from I have seen (only in pics),recent FG's seem to be just a little ambered. Certainly looks impressive in JB's pics.

Joshua, CJ is correct, it is the one you demo'd. Actually, your detailed review gave me the confidence to make the purchase. Thanks for that !!! :D

Tony, to say I am grateful and appreciative of the advice, help and assistance extended to me by forum members would be a monumental understatement. I can't say thank you enough.

93 days to go !!!

Well, that time finally came! I delivered the bass to Shane today at his hotel up on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Along with his lovely wife, we walked 25 blocks and back, chatting on the way, then had coffee before I headed off on my way. They've nearly convinced me to make the trip to Oz next year...nearly. The story about the bloke being attacked by a 'Roo while jogging 'round Melbourne was more then a little scary.

And, in case you were wondering, I was well-compensated for my bass-sitting (but am petrified to try the Vegemite):
