One more sleep till my first Ric

Post by Cyniq »

Hi Guys,

Just introducing myself. It's Sunday here in Australia and I'm getting my 2008 4003 FG delivered (from the States) to my work address tomorrow.

I think I'll look around for a Y cable today so I can play around with the RickoSound. I imagine that I'll be able to send each pickup to its own channel in my small mixer, eq each to taste, add an effect to one channel maybe and mix them together for inputing to a single amp. Sounds like it would still allow for a lot of control and a great sound if you only have one amp.

Might grab some polish and a nut driver for the truss rod as well !

Thanks for all the advice that I've read in the past weeks.

Welcome and congratulations Steve!

Sounds like you've made a very exciting acquisition. I hope you get some sleep overnight! :D

The nut driver is a must if you like to make your own adjustments. Your proposed Y-cable set-up sounds like great way of getting the most out of the ROS whilst running one amp. As for the polish - who'd be without it?

Great to have you "on-board"!

Welcome and congrats, too, Steve!

Be sure to post a few picks when you get a chance (I know you may not set it down for days ... :D ). :D

Yes, welcome and congratulations! You have no idea what you're in for...

Don't worry, It's all good! Well, except for that feeling you'll get of wanting more Ricks. Well, that's good too, it can just get expensive!

Christmas in July, a new Rick, what could be better? Congrats, Steve. Yeah, it's going to be hard to sleep tonight. How well I remember! Play her good, and play loud and often.

Hi Steve !!!

Congrats on the 4003.

Whereabouts are you? There are a number of Aussie forum members in Sydney and Melbourne and occasionally us Melbournites have a little get together.

We also have the first ever Australian Rickenbacker Confluence in Melbourne in April 2010 Look here viewtopic.php?f=15&t=389541

Sleep well
