Re: Pawn Stars Premiers July 19th!
What about this is pertinent? Have you been there?
I guess it's that I am not a reality show fan (well, except for Deadliest Catch) ....

One of the best deals I ever got (a 1959 Fender Tremolux and a 3 pup Fender Custom Shop Tele with a B Bender) was found at a Pawn Shop in Utah. Interesting thing about the shop is they have a drive through window so folks can pawn their goods more discretely

Yep, I got my 1966 Ryder 1000, original and with original brown Tolex case, at a pawn shop in San Diego (via eBay) for $420 ... they were nice folks, too.
Keep us posted, Mitch, but I have this feeling that you'll more likely be seeing Charvels, Fender Squires, Ibanez, ...

Oddly enough, one night recently I was scanning what programs were on, and Pawn Stars was coming up. When I checked the synopsis of the episode, it mentioned a Chuck berry autographed Strat, so I had to watch it for that. It turned out to be some cheapo Stratofaker with an autographed pickguard added to it (not added well, as the holes did not match up!). The seller started out asking for $3000, and I went into convulsive laughter at that point ...

The guy wanted $10,000 for it. They offered him $4000 which he declined. That guitar is for sale here for $9999

Play on, pick often, jam with any Rickenbacker, and prosper.

Last night a guy pawned a 1940's Gibson L7 archtop. Claimed it was used by a guy who played in a band that did a gig for Al Capone. Needed work, he sold it to the shop for $1000. Shop put $450 into repairs(frets and polishing), and put it out for $3500
