Hey Bob, been quite a while since I last saw you post! I hope you're enjoying the summer. We're still waiting for it to arrive in the wilds of the midwest! July opened up with 58-62 for the first 3 days. Thanks Canada!

I know you guys must hate the monster but I think it's kinda cute!
i KINDA agree. The pickguard actually seems to work for me...odd, I never thought the pickguard on my bass had THAT much identiable sexiness to it. Hmmm..wonder how my 4001 would look refinished in "pumpkin".
Because I told you before- oh, you can't do that.

At the very least, it certainly was an interesting twist.

Well we haven't had much of one either, it's been rain, rain and more rain, its been like monsoon weather out here this past month.
Well you never know I'm getting sick of MA. I'm thought of heading to Canada before. Getting a little too crowded here lately.

Geez...we've been burning up here, literally! We've been consistently in 110F+ for weeks...hitting into the 100s' even longer. We aren't dropping lower than the mid 80's at 3 AM!

Interesting...

I'd like to hear what it sounds like too.

The big Q is, does it have that d**n cap installed?

I really like the look of this and I suspect it'll sound really good. After all, it's the offspring of two thoroughbreds so it can hardly fail. Congrats to the builder/owner.

I posted this bass on a different forum and a guy over there reckons he built something exactly like this at some point in the distant past - he reckons it was Rick pups & plate, Fender neck and an old Vox Symphonic body. He says he's not convinced this isn't his old bass!

So is this just some random photo found on the Interwebs, of does anyone know who owns it & where it is?

Guys, several edits were made by the admins and by me the past couple of days, in this thread and in a couple of others. Keep in mind that as someone remarked yesterday, that is is a G rated forum. All ages welcome.

Think of it this way, if your intended words in a post would seem inappropriate to say to a small child or to hear coming from a small child, don't post it here. This includes suggestive and fudged words.

Follow the link in the first post of this thread. It will take you to the Alembic Club forum where this bass was discussed. There is even a picture of the owner playing it on stage.

EDIT: I take that back. Apparently the link was removed for some reason. :?:

Thanks Ted - I'll Google the Alembic club forum & see if I can find it.

I hope that was suitable language for a small child. :?

I once put a Hi-gain pickup in the neck position of a Yamaha RBX 250...
It sounded really good!

Nevermind the guitar who in the name of the wee man has wallcovering like that?
