Are you talking about USD or Canadian? That does seem really high to me if we're thinking of US greenbacks. Isn't that about full list price these days? I would want to start looking at at least a thousand less if I was shopping for a used one, Kieran, with the economy what it is these days.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong ...

The official RIC US retail price list currently in effect shows the retail price of a 325C64 as $3599. In other words, this is the maximum price you can expect to pay from a dealer. I am aware of several US dealers who are discounting them in the $2650 range -- new with warranty, of course.kieran campbell wrote:Hey, I have a opotunity to put a down payment on a 325c64 for $3499, is it worth it, or should I wait and try to get one online , I heard someone got one for $1600 or somthing?
Yes, one did sell on ebay about a month ago (and was the subject of a thread on this forum) for under $1700 in apparently very nice condition.
So -- I would explore other options before locking myself into the price you were quoted.

I agree - $3500 for a 325c64 is high, if it's U.S. dollars.
Ka is a wheel.

Kieran, my best advice to you is to look for a used jetglo 320 and then have the Lennon mods done to it. 320s from the Eighties can still be had for around $1500, give or take a few hundred, and with the cost of conversion you could be rockin' like John for 2K or less, maybe a little more if you want to be super faithful to the plan and hire someone to go the whole nine yards. Labor's not cheap, but the accent TP and trim won't break the bank. It can be accomplished incrementally, too, so you don't have to fork out all at once. I think that's the cheapest and most fun way for you to go, knowing as I do how you've got your heart set on a Lennon model.

That's Canadian dollars. If you get it through L&M you can do payments and they take trades. Expensive? Yeah, but it's a Rickenbacker and they're almost never cheap.

Ah, well that's a little different. Kieran did mention he has a Rick already that he wants to trade up or sell. Add to that the convenience of payments and the scarcity in Canada; he may well have a good solution there. In buying online he would need to have all the cash up front. I hope he keeps us posted.chucksimms wrote:That's Canadian dollars. If you get it through L&M you can do payments and they take trades. Expensive? I like the little Rics a lot, but I'm going to be the contrary post here I guess--they're not worth $3K+ IMO. $3499CA is still $31+US, and that's way too much money for the guitar.
These have been popping up on Ebay all over the place--but most fall in around $2-$2500 give or take, which I think is probably the higher end of what these guitars should sell for. And yes, one recently did go on the 'bay for a little over $1600, which IMO was a major score--the guy's a member here.

My friend and bandmate,Brian, picked up the Ric for $1600+. I actually have it at the moment as I put on a set of 60's NOS Pyramid flats and some minor tweaking. It's used but in great condition and sounds great.wj350 wrote:

That's one jacked-up price, unless $C are worth around 75¢ these days...

Yeah, I'm the lucky guy that got the 2007 325C64 for $1625. So, $3400 sounds like waaaay too much. You can find them cheaper if you just wait and be patient. And yes, My friend Mike put some NOS 60's Pyramid flats on and they feel and sound great! Thanks, Mike!

That makes it a little over $3200 U.S. That still seems high.
