MY Rick 360c63/12 Fireglo arrived today at my door, shipped overnight air with UPS. I got mine from Mike Parks at The Rickenbacker Page. At this time he may have a few more left, if anyone is interested in purchasing one of these beautiful guitars.
Re: 360/12c63
My, shipping must have cost almost as much as the guitar!

Re: 360/12c63
Shipping was very inexpensive with UPS overnight Air saver. I would rather spend another $100.00 then having my guitar bounced all over from one UPS terminal to another. I would never have a guitar shipped to me by ground transportation. It is not worth the stress worrying if the guitar is going to arrive in one piece or not or. Mike Parks takes excellent care in packaging the guitars he ships, so no damage will result. The price of the guitar and the wait was well worth it.

Great looking FG on that!
Re: 360/12c63
That FG looks amazing. Congrats!
Re: 360/12c63
Very nice, Ron. Tell me, is it similar to your CW?

Jake,
The 360/12 CW is definitely lighter in overall weight and has a more "open" sound ( better acoustical presence) than the C63. This is probably due to the thinner top, which resonates more.
The 360/12 C63 also has a nice, well-rounded sound and seems to possess a little more compressed, tighter sound and therefore imparts slightly more sustain.
I'm very impressed with the quality and attention to detail of both guitars....... And that new, 2009 fireglo is to die for!
Ron

Re: 360/12c63
I just got mine! It arrived on the truck today from Mandolin Brothers, who have been an absolute joy. I ordered it December 4, 2008, and there were two on order from the factory with one accounted for already. The expected wait was 15-24 months. Low and behold, a couple of weeks ago while in London on business I got a call saying that one had arrived and the prior guy on the top of the list had pulled a Mark Sanford. I was surprised, particularly since I had just finished paying for one of the last of the 370's they shipped me last Fall, also a year ahead of projection. While I really didn't budget for this, I've still got credit, so there was no way I was going to tempt fate by letting it go: I've heard that a few dozen Americans are hit by buses in London every year. So, if you need a Rick of distinction at an excellent price, call Mandolin Brothers.
Now, to the axe:
This just may be the single most beautiful guitar I have ever beheld. The FireGlo finish is stunning, akin to a majestic sunset painted by a grandmaster. The workmanship appears impeccable.
When I tuned and plugged in, I was astounded at the rich tones, accompanied by mega-jangle. I do have small hands, but the neck and fingering are perfect for me.
I am a nut for proper intonation, and put a 12-saddle bridge on my conventional 1990 360/12 to marked advantage, but to my ear, the 360/12C63 intonates perfectly all along the fretboard with no adjustments.
First song?: I Want To Hold Your Hand. I took a major run through the Beatles songbook (If I Fell was a sweet revelation), with generous entries from the early Byrds, especially Gene Clark numbers.
I have only heard one 360/12C63 before, ever--- those two video clips posted online by that too-young-to-remember-or-afford-this-guitar-kid playing---but it was like a 45 year time warp in which the British Invasion was captured not on low fidelity ancient vinyl, but with brilliant live sounds the way they were meant to be above the screaming, fainting victims of Beatlemania---- Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!
Enough typing--- my fingers aren't sore anymore, so back to the guitar.

Yes, Adam, I was referring to you, and hope that you are not taking to heart any hint of criticism. You are a very talented young man, and were generous to share your gifts with a wider audience, particularly in such startling high def video and sound. I found the clips when I could not stand the wait for my own 360/12C63, and had to hear how one sounds. This 57 year old would love to see more of your clips--- I might even try to emulate some of the licks, as it has proven tough to get enough footage of George Harrison online to figure out what his fingers were doing. Keep at it!

No one more than me, Ron. Ben Hall says that more are going to be shipped this month, so I've got my fingers crossed.libratune wrote:Kris, you have the patience of a saint.
