I just started to do this to my 350 today and was curious about a couple of findings when I lifted the pickguard. First, it wasn't easy to find which set of leads were the neck and which were the middle because they were lightly twisted coming out of the upper cavity. The shielded grounds were also neatly twisted as they went to the back of the pot. I haven't run across this in any guitar that I have opened up, but have seen it in a lot of amps to helps fight noise and make the wiring neater. Is this common on older or 3 pickup Ricks? The other "oddity" to me was that the wiring appears to be green and green/red striped cloth braided push-back wiring. How long did Rickenbacker do this for? I'm sure that all of my other Ricks have had colored teflon/plastic insulation. This guitar is a 1984 I believe.
Jeff, I'll pull the pickguard/control panel off my 1984 325v59 and take a picture of the wiring after I get home from work later today and let you know what I find.
I do remember looking at the wiring on my 1993 370/12v64 and the wires were grey (that's all I remember, as I was looking for signs of resoldering at the time)).

Thanks for the pic, Gary. That wire color is definately different than both my 350 and my 330. I had to delay the rewire because I'm going to replace the sponge rubber pads beneath the pickups. They've been compressed pretty bad and don't really want to lift the pups back up anymore. I'll try to post a picture of the green cloth wiring in mine when I go back inside.
